NL Games Region Playdowns

The playdowns for six regions of the 2018 NL Winter Games in Deer Lake have been finalized.  To date the qualifiers for the St. John’s-North, Avalon, Eastern, Central, Western and Labrador have been determined.

Badminton is the second most popular sport in the world, second only to soccer.

Badminton is the fastest racquet sport in the word, a shuttle can reach speeds in excess of 490 km/hr

Badminton is a highly aerobic sport which can be played throughout one's lifetime.

In a typical two-game match, a player can run approximately one mile.

There are two types of shuttles: plastic and feather which are made with goose feathers. A feather shuttle has 16 feathers and weighs between 4.74 and 5.50 grams.
