NL Winter Games Volunteers

Posted on September 24, 2017

The new season has just started but we have a lot to do in preparation for the Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games to be held in Deer Lake in March 2018. If you are interested in any of the following roles, please let us know as soon as possible at badmintonnl@badmintonnl.ca

REGIONAL CONTACTS/COORDINATORS
Of greatest urgency, is that we need a volunteer in each region to conduct a Regional Play-down and select a Regional team. It is essential that these play-downs be completed by January 31, 2018. A list of regions can be found at www.nlgames.ca

COACHING CERTIFICATION, COMP INTRO (LEVEL 1-2)
Secondly, all Regional team coaches are required to have a coaching certification equivalent to Competition Introduction (trained). Training will be arranged in two locations subject to demand. Please identify your needs by October 1, 2017.

If you aren’t sure of your certification, contact the Coaching Association of Canada at www.coach.ca or access The Locker at https://thelocker.coach.ca/account/login?ReturnUrl=%2f

UMPIRES
We would also like to have a good number of certified umpires to oversee the matches. If you are already an umpire and are interested in participating, or if you are interested but need training, let us know by October 31, 2017 at badmintonnl@badmintonnl.ca

HOST TEAM
If you are in the Deer Lake area, there is a requirement for a Convenor for the badminton event, as well as a coach for the host team. If interested in either role, contact Brad Romaine at dlwintergames@gmail.com

Happy shuttling.
