Host Badminton Team for NL Winter Games

The community of Deer Lake is in need of athletes to form the Host Badminton Team for the upcoming NL Winter Games.  The badminton competition will be held March 14-18, 2018 which is during the second half of the games .

Any interested players must register online and the deadline for registration is January 19, 2018

Badminton is the fastest racquet sport in the word, a shuttle can reach speeds in excess of 490 km/hr

Badminton is a highly aerobic sport which can be played throughout one's lifetime.

In a typical two-game match, a player can run approximately one mile.

There are two types of shuttles: plastic and feather which are made with goose feathers. A feather shuttle has 16 feathers and weighs between 4.74 and 5.50 grams.
